Chico Diaz- The Black Moods

Chico Diaz from The Black Moods here. We are a 3-piece Rock-N-Roll band that smashes 70’s and 90’s Rock together like two high-speed trains - Straight. Up. RAWK.

Growing up listening to music, some of my biggest influences have been Abe Cunningham (Deftones), Tim “Herb” Alexander (Primus) Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Them Crooked Vultures) and my number one favorite

drummer is John Bonham – I love the way he played drums with melody. Bonzo could make the drum kit sing like no other.

In October 2016, we released our latest album, “Medicine”, produced by my good childhood friend, Jim Kaufman. The album was born out of multiple L.A. sessions, and constant touring in between. The response from fans and critics has been amazing. My band is always working, either on the road or in the recording studio, so when people ask us, “How can you play every night for hours on end?” My response is always, “No matter how hard it is to get out of bed, being tired, sick, hung over or whatever, music is the medicine,” giving us the perfect name for our album.

In 2018, we started recording for our next record, with a new producer Johnny “K” Karkazis who has worked with some major acts like 3 Doors Down, Finger Eleven and Disturbed. The plan is to release a couple singles, EP, then a couple more singles, then a full LP. We have been recording songs here and there, either in our own studio or at Johnny’s in Chicago- just depending on our touring schedule. We already have two songs out on the radio, “Bella Donna” and “Bad News”, both of which have already broke the Billboard top 40.

The Black Moods have been touring since summer 2016, and our latest and greatest tour so far is with Whitesnake for April and May 2019. We have been fortunate enough to share the stage with some amazing acts like the Gin Blossoms, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Adelitas Way, Robbie Krieger of The Doors, Shinedown, Janes Addiction, L.A. Guns, Candlebox, Lil’ Jon, Butcher Babies, Gemini Syndrome, Whiskey Meyers, Blues Traveler, Cracker and manymore.
