Chris Eagles

Christopher Eagles is a percussionist based in Longmont Colorado. He holds a music degree from Acadia University (B.M.) which he completed under Mark Adam, and a master's degree which he completed under the tutelage of Morris Palter at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

 

Chris specializes in contemporary percussion music, both in  chamber and solo settings. He has appeared as a guest artist with chamber groups such as The Chamber Cartel (Atlanta), Acadia Faculty Improv Group (Nova Scotia), and has appeared as a guest artist in the Peak Frequency festival at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. An active commissioner of new work Chris has commissioned both solo and chamber works by composers such as Emerson Eads (Alaska), Lucas Oikle (Japan), Brian Topp (New Brunswick) Donald Stewart (Seattle) and Derek Charke (Nova Scotia). Along with his wife Kathryn, Chris is a member of the chamber group the Midnight Sun 2, they recently finished recording a full length album of new works for percussion and flute.  

 

Chris now teaches percussion and drumline at Colorado Christian University. Prior to moving to the USA, Christopher lived on the east coast of Canada where he studied and performed extensively as a classical percussionist as well as a Jazz and Rock drum kit player. In addition to this Christopher has spent two summers as a member of the Band of the Ceremonial Guard, one of Canada’s premier military bands.
