Lone Star

Lone Star Drum and Bugle Corps was originally founded in 1991 by Wichita Falls businessman Jeff Ashlock and his son-in-law Robert Poulin, an alumnus of the Madison Scouts. Under the leadership of Mr. Ashlock and Mr. Poulin Lone Star was extremely successful in DCI Division II and III competition (what is now DCI's Open Class). However, due to a lack of necessary funding Lone Star went inactive after the completion of the 1998 DCI competitive season.

Now, after almost 20 years of inactivity the legacy of the most iconic Texas born drum corps, Lone Star Drum & Bugle Corps, continues. Lone Star Drum & Bugle Corps is returning as a performance program of Independence Performing Arts. IPA is a Texas non profit charitable organization. Based in Ft. Worth, Texas IPA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of business and arts professionals that have an estimated combined 45 years of Pageantry Arts involvement.
